Evelyn Sharma, who has been a part of hits like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Main Tera Hero and Yaariyan, is gung ho about her new venture, a relationship drama with Amit Sadh. She says, “I play a young girl in the fashion industry in the film, so the character is close to my own journey in India.” Evelyn is also excited about a new film, which is scheduled to roll this month. Declining to reveal more as it’s a big project, she says, “It’s like a dream come true. So wait for the big announcement.”
The actress, who was last seen in ‘Ishqedarriyaan’, says she’s happy with the feedback her first full-fledged lead role earned her and is looking forward to doing more such roles. The 12-films-old actress is also excited about her foundation, Seams For Dreams, driven by the mission to clothe more than 1,00,000 people in need across India this year.
The Indo-German beauty says that while she had never thought she would be in Bollywood, her journey so far has been pleasantly surprising. That’s also how she was inspired to start her foundation. “Since we have so many clothes, we thought we could give them to people in need. The fashion stuff can be auctioned and the proceeds can be used to clothe people,” she says, adding that she doesn’t believe in calling it her foundation. She explains, “It belongs to everyone who wants to come forward and be a part of the mission.”
Following the response to her two garage sales, Evelyn is looking forward to furthering the foundation’s cause with her third outing today in Bandra, Mumbai. “After the fabulous response to the first two garage sales, I’m looking forward to the third one. It’s good to see the industry supporting the cause,” she signs off.
