Students fret as BU schedule clashes with IPCC exams

BENGALURU: Thousands of students pursuing B.Com courses at the colleges affiliated to Bangalore University are in a fix as both BU B.Com exams and Integrated Professional Competence
Course (IPCC/CA) fall on the same dates.

As per the schedule announced, the IPCC examination will be held between November 2 to 15 and even the BU B.Com semester examinations are scheduled to begin from November 5. As both the exams are clashing, the students are demanding the university to change the dates.

Speaking with Express students said, “IPCC examinations were scheduled long back and we have also paid the fees and prepared for it. We request the authorities of Bangalore University to revise the time table and help us.”
Pankaj student of Seshadripuram college who is preparing for IPCC said, “I am in my final year and for me university exam will be at 2 pm and even IPCC papers are at the same time. I can’t skip both.”

Another student said, “Hope the university authorities will understand our problem. It is not just 100 students appearing for IPCC, they are in thousands. If the university does not come to our rescue, who else will.”

The university authorities are saying it is difficult to change the schedule as all the universities have to stick to the common calendar now. Prof K N Ninge Gowda registrar (administration) said, “We have scheduled to conduct the exams from November 5 and we cannot change the dates as it is common calendar now. But, if we receive representation from aspirants, we can make it for alternate days.”
