It is amazing how braids can have so many variations. After fabric-woven braid, the latest trend that has hit the runway is the corset braid. The hairdo, thankfully, is nothing like it’s namesake, the corset dress, which is figure-hugging and uncomfortable for some. These braids are easy to make and can be done at home, too. Here’s how…
l Create two Dutch braids. Braid till the end of your hair and secure it with a hair band.
l Get a long, colourful ribbon.
l Start threading the ribbon through the first few strands of each of your braids. Pull the ends of the ribbon so the braid and the ribbon are tight.
l Cross the ends of the ribbon just like tying your shoe lace and cross again, till you reach the end of your braid.
l Secure the ends with a pin or a band. Voila! You now have corset braid.
l For those who don’t like to go OTT, you could try this braid on just one portion of your hair.
l You can also use leather strips instead of ribbon for the braid to give it a rocker-chick look.
