Govind Padmasoorya has always maintained that he has been choosy about his movie projects. The actor, who opened a new chapter in his career after the success of his TV shows, has been taking it slow in the filmi front with just three movies in the last three years. Now, the actor has chosen to make his debut in Tamil with a Jiiva-starrer titled Kee, which is directed by Kalees. “The movie has a pacy script that had me excited from the word go. I play the anti-hero in the film and it’s a meaty role. Also, I am glad I will get to work with Jiiva,” Padmasoorya says, adding that he will join the sets by the end of this month.
On his foray into Tamil, the actor, who was last seen in the horror-comedy Pretham, says, “I had been listening to a lot of scripts lately – both in Malayalam and Tamil. But the priority for me was to collaborate with a good team. That’s when this project came to me.” The movie also has Nikki Galrani, RJ Balaji, Suhasini and Rajendran as part of the cast. “It’s got an urban setting. It’s a big movie with my schedule extending till November. I am not at liberty to give out more details at the moment,” he signs off.
