DELHI:As most children were fortunate enough to be able to celebrate Children’s day, an 18-month old kid battled for life on Monday after being allegedly raped by her 21-year old caretaker – a friend of the victim’s father.
A case has been registered under POSCO and the child is fighting for her life at Safdurjung Hospital in Delhi.
DCW chief Swati Maliwal tweeted about the brutality and also appealed to ministers for the death penalty of the rapist within six months to ensure speedy justice to the victim.
Child rapes are crimes that are growing at an increasing pace in India and need to be tackled with stringent punishments.
