A woman Swarnalatha attempted suicide on Thursday over harassment from her in-laws in Peddapalli district.
The woman married Raju, a railway employee from Kamareddy this year. However, her in-laws harassed her for additional dowry and unable to deal with it, Swarnalatha resorted to the extreme step by setting herself ablaze after dousing herself with kerosene at her residence in Godavarikhani.
She was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad and the doctors informed that her condition is critical.
The victim’s family members blamed the in-laws for her condition as they had been harassing her for dowry.
