Rashtriya janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav today hit out at his adversaries by declaring that if he had to go to jail in the railway tender scam case , his party would remain unaffected with his vote base and it would only likely soar in the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections for 2019 and 2020.
“It is being said that my property is being seized but one thing I want to say is if I have to go to jail, there will only be an increase in votes for me,” said the RJD chief at the book launch of rebel JD-U leader Ali Anwar’s compilation of speeches in Parliament.
Speaking at the event, Lalu hit out to at Prime Minister Narendra Modi calling him “desh ka badshah’ under whose leadership democracy was being made a mockery of.
“There is an emergency-like situation prevailing in the country today. All around there is a situation of tanashahi (autocracy) with the Prime Minister behaving like desh ka baadshah (king of the nation),” said Lalu.
He said the situation has become so volatile that people fear being seen with a cow. He said that if any person is seen with a cow, fringe Hindu outfits come out with swords to teach the person a lesson.
“People have now started fearing cows. They don’t want to be seen with them leave alone transporting them from one place to another in case they invite the wrath of fringe elements,” said Lalu.
