A house was broken into and cash and jewellery collectively worth Rs 7.5 lakh was stolen from the house on Tuesday night in Dhayari area of Pune, according to the police.
On Tuesday, an unidentified person, or persons, broke into the house of Yogesh Raikar, 35, a resident if Raikar Nagar in Dhayari area along Sinhagad Road.
The thief, or thieves, entered the house by breaking the safety grill on the window of the living room of the house, according to the police. The person then entered the house and subsequently the bedroom of the house.
Cash worth Rs.40,000 and jewellery made of silver and gold stored in the cupboard inside the bedroom was stolen, according to the complaint. The total worth of the stolen belongings was calculated to be Rs.7,39,900, according to the police.
