A private company executive thought he had managed to get away with shoplifting at Delhi airport.
But when he landed in Pune with a women’s bag he had stolen from a store a Delhi Terminal 3, security personnel were waiting for him.
The passenger was detained and he admitted that he stole the bag from a store in T3 before boarding his flight. He was then made to go back to Delhi by the next flight to return the bag.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was informed about the theft by the manager of the shop on December 10.
“We were told about the incident at 2.45pm that someone picked up a bag from the shop located in the domestic retail area of Terminal 3. The cost of the bag was around ₹7,000. We scanned the CCTV footage and traced the movement of that passenger. He picked the bag at 1.15am and proceeded for boarding. He boarded the Jet Airways flight for Pune at 2.15pm,” said a CISF officer, requesting anonymity.
