Fast-track AI sexual harassment probe: Maneka Gandhi

Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi has directed Internal Complaints Committee of Air India to complete its inquiry into an alleged sexual harassment complaint made by a staffer against a senior executive by June 18.

Neetta Karkhanis, who is working with Air India met Maneka Sanjay Gandhi regarding her complaint under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013.

The Minister has taken up the matter with Minister for Civil Aviation. The Minister has also spoken to the head of the Internal Complaints Committee of Air India and has directed her to complete the inquiry within June, 2018.

In a letter addressed to Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu, the complainant had also alleged that the senior executive had harassed several other women, had obstructed promotions and privileges to her after she resisted his advances, and that the said executive had used his connections to shield himself.
