Kollam : After a long period of anticipation and persistent advocacy, the Government has issued an order granting House Rent Allowance (HRA) to 54 police personnel of the Closed Armed Reserve (AR) wing at the Kollam City DHQ Camp, replacing the meager Rs 1,500 Barrack Allowance previously received under the 2021 Pay Commission. This significant breakthrough followed the proactive intervention of the Police Association, whose representatives met with the Chief Minister and Finance Minister this month to highlight the financial strain faced by officers living with their families.
