Director Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, has broken several box office records on its way to the top. The film, on Tuesday, went on to cross the Rs 900 crore mark at the worldwide box office, helping the franchise hit a new high. According to the latest report on Sacnilk, ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ has hit a worldwide total collection of Rs 919 crore, as per early estimates. This is the gross total of the film’s India collections of Rs 687.43 crore and an overseas haul of Rs 231.57 crore. Meanwhile, the film’s all-India net collections are still said to be around Rs 575.67 crore. Tuesday’s numbers, have put the film on track to register itself in the box office history books as one of the highest-grossing Indian film franchises of all time. The film’s current haul, in addition to gross total collection of ‘Dhurandhar’ (2025), has now helped it overtake the Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa’ to become the third biggest film franchise in India. With the first film raking in an estimated Rs 1,300 crore and the sequel earning a current total of Rs 919 crore, the franchise’s overall total collections have now hit an estimated Rs 2,219 crore. With this, the film has emerged as the third highest-grossing Indian film franchise, surpassing the earnings of ‘Pushpa’, estimated to be around Rs 2,002 crore. The film is now on its way to dethrone SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ franchise, starring Prabhas, with its total of Rs 2,462 crore, across three film releases – ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ (2015), ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ (2017) and the 10th anniversary special, ‘Baahubali: The Epic’. With an animated film ‘Baahubali: The Eternal War’, also in development, it remains to be seen if ‘Dhurandhar’ will be able to hold on to the second spot for long. In the first spot, is the YRF spy universe, comprising of a total of 6 films thus far, with an estimated total of Rs 3,195 crore. These include Salman Khan‘s ‘Tiger’, Hrithik Roshan’s ‘War’ and Shah Rukh Khan‘s ‘Pathaan’ franchise. Alia Bhatt’s ‘Alpha’ is also set to join the list when it releases later this year. Although on a remarkable run, the Ranveer Singh-led film fell short of matching or breaking Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2’ record to become the fastest Indian film to cross the Rs 1000 crore mark. That record continues to be held by ‘Pushpa 2’, which reportedly hit the milestone in just 6 days. ‘Dhurandhar’ will likely hit the mark on Day 7, as it ends its first extended weekend at the box office. ‘Dhurandhar 2’ still has a long way to go before it wraps up its theatrical run, thus keeping trade gurus hooked on the box office to see if the film can continue its epic run.
