A 3-year-old child was allegedly killed by a youth in Chennai’s outskirts after he took the child from his home on Wednesday night and later threw the child’s body into a thorny bush. The shocking incident came to light on Thursday early morning when the child’s parents Muruga and Hemala noticed the child missing from their bed and started searching the streets in the Alinjivakkam village in Chennai’s neighbouring Tiruvallur district.
A few minutes later the locals found the child Hemanth’s body in a thorny bush, a few meters away from the house. The Tiruvallur district police found that one youth hailing from the same locality, Tamil Selvan, aged 23, was spotted by a few locals in the spot in the wee hours. Much to shock of the police, the youth is said to have readily confessed of having killed the child.
“He says that the child hit him three day ago and hence took revenge. The child’s mouth was gagged with a kerchief. We are further questioning him,” said a police officer. Tamil Selvan was a graduate. The child’s house, which is a portion in a row of houses, does not had a proper door exploiting which Tamil Selvan is suspected to had taken the child with him before killing him.
