The all new Hyundai Elite i20 has been spotted testing, and spy pics reveal that the car will feature a new coloured Multi-Info Display screen at the center of the console. The MID screen will be flanked by a digital speedometer and tachometer on either side.
Hyundai plans to continue with the 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 81bhp of power and 115Nm or torque. The i20’s current diesel engine will be replaced with the 1.5-litre engine that is featured on the Kia Seltos, but will arrive in a different state of tune. The company could also offer the Venue’s more powerful 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine currently produces 113bhp of power and 250Nm of torque, and comes mated to either a six-speed manual transmission, and a torque-converter automatic. Hyundai could also similar transmission options for the diesel variants of the new Elite i20.
The new Elite i20 looks sharper than before, and features a larger front grille (fairly similar to the one on the recently launched Elantra facelift). The upcoming third-generation Hyundai Elite i20 is expected to be priced between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
