Mahindra XUV500 Top-Spec BS6

The Mahindra XUV500 has been spotted testing with the new BS-VI variant engine to comply with the emission norms coming into effect on April 2020. The upcoming BS-VI version of XUV500 variant is in full testing mode in and around Chennai as spotted by Rushlane.
The spied test mule is of top-spec W11 Diesel variant mated to an automatic transmission with no visual changes. The other trim levels of the XUV 500 will continue to get an automatic transmission post the updates.
Mahindra will offer the BS-VI variant with the current design before they release the all new next-gen model which will get ready next year. Mahindra has ensured their much-loved SUV with regular updates and packing new features in the past but XUV 500 has been around for close to 9 years now and in need of a major update inside out.
Mahindra offers XUV500 in two engine variants. The 2.2 litre turbocharged petrol produces about 140 hp and 320Nm of torque. The turbocharged diesel engine produces 155 hp and 360 Nm of torque with a higher state of tune compared to the same engine that is being offered in Scorpio. These figures should see a negligible difference with the BS-VI variant.
