Poco F1 was a smartphone for consumers who didn’t want to shell a fortune to get a smartphone with top-of-the-line hardware. Though the company hinted at the launch of its successor in a few scenarios, there is no official confirmation about the same lately.
It looks like Poco enthusiasts finally have a piece of good news as the new report hints at an imminent launch of the Poco F2. According to the latest report from a well-known leakster Tech Auntyji, Xiaomi might launch the Poco F2 by the end of 2019. The Poco F1 was staged against the OnePlus’s offering. The same report suggests that the Poco F2 will go against its new rival — Realme instead of OnePlus. As Realme is also gearing up for the launch of its first affordable flagship — the Realme X2 Pro.
Though there are no solid leaks with respect to specifications, the Poco F2 is likely to come with the best hardware that the Android world has to offer. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 or the Snapdragon 855 Plus is likely to be the brains of the smartphone with at least 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The display and build quality were some of the downsides of the Poco F1 and the company is likely to fix these issues with the upcoming iteration.
It is said that the Poco F2 is likely to opt for an AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The device will run on a special version of MIUI 11 on top of Android 9 Pie or Android 10 with no ads or bloatware, unlike some Redmi smartphones. As per the pricing, the Poco F2 might cost a bit more than the Poco F1, where the base variant is likely to be priced in the vicinity of Rs. 25,000.
