IPL 2018: SRH defeat Kohli’s RCB by 5 runs, SRH remain table-toppers

Hyderabad: The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by five runs in an Indian Premier League match. With last night’s victory, Sunrisers have displaced Chennai Super Kings in the IPL table. Currently, the SRH remains the table-topper in IPL 2018.

Chasing a target of 147 runs, Royal Challengers Bangalore made 141 runs for the loss of six wickets. Skipper Virat Kohli scored 39 runs.

Earlier put in to bat, Sunrisers were all out for 146 in the stipulated 20 overs. Skipper Kane Wliiamson scored 56 off 39 balls while Shakib Al Hasan made 35. For RCB Mohammed Siraj and TIM Southee claimed three wickets each.

Kane Williamson was once the again the top-scorer for the hosts as he scored 56 off 39 balls to steady the innings.

With last night’s loss, Royal Challengers Bangalore struggling in the bottom half of the table and would need a miracle to progress.

Sunrisers have consolidated their position at the top of the table with 16 points from 10 games. RCB, on the other hand, are standing on the verge of elimination with just six points from 10 matches.

Today, Rajasthan Royals will take on Kings Eleven Punjab in the 40th IPL match in Jaipur at 8 p.m.
